Midnight Constellations Jewelry

Today I discovered Nykaa Fashion, a company which sells very nice initial necklaces, made from my Midnight Constellations font. Most of them are sold out at the moment, so I hope they are having great success. Midnight Constellations is free and available for download. Thank you, Nykaa Fashion and stay safe out there, everyone!

Personalized Mugs

I was scrolling through my Facebook feed and happened to stumble on an ad for a company that customizes mugs. I was pleasantly surprised to see GelPen Serif used for the customized names. Free to download.

GelPen Upright found on t-shirt

I found this over on TeeTurtle.com. They have very cute t-shirts, and I’m not just saying that because there are three there that feature GelPen Upright.

New Sharasfonts web site in progress

Hi there! It’s been a while since I’ve posted here. I had some issues with my ISP and as a result, I will be migrating to a different platform, hopefully by the end of this year. Please just bear with me! All my fonts are available for testing and downloading at fontspace.com. If you have any questions or concerns or comments, please feel free to contact me through this page. Have a terrific Thanksgiving!

GelPen font used on snack food packaging!

While browsing in Whole Foods tonight, I was super surprised to find this line of @YumEarth snacks that use GelPen on their packaging. A big shout out to Yum Earth for their fun designs. I think they did a great job with their package design. The color schemes are playful and fun, and I especially like the little happy faces drawn on the fruits too!!

GPU Pro font only $5 with coupon code “FONTBLOG”

Introducing an expanded version of my free GelPen Upright. GPU Pro contains west and east European glyphs as well as Latin.  It’s 50% off for a limited time, only $5 with the coupon code “FONTBLOG”. The free version is free to download on sharasfonts.com and is limited to basic latin characters. Both the free and expanded versions work well for captions, comics, cartoons and small text. It was even spotted on Real Time with Bill Maher! Have a great weekend!!

KaoriGel-カオリゲル

Good morning and happy Sunday! How about another free font download? It’s a handwritten Japanese (katakana and hiragana) and Latin typeface called KaoriGel. Named after and inspired by my dear friend from Chiba, Japan, this typeface is part of my GelPen series and was one of my first fonts. The Japanese characters are hiragana and katakana only. Sorry about the lack of kanji, but my Japanese is rather limited at this time. If you only use or need Latin characters this simple typeface would also be useful for captions and body text. You can download KaoriGel for free right here!

Light Painting

Hi there! I have been taking a little break from fonts as I have been into light painting with my camera. I love abstract patterns and colorful lights and have been having fun experimenting. There are more light paintings at fineartamerica.com so if you feel like browsing some interesting colors and textures please feel free to stop by! 🙂

Toner Incident

When something as mundane as a laser printer acting weird inspires a font, I start to wonder if I’m running out of ideas… Anyway, Toner Incident is free. A free messy, blotchy, distressed, and eroded font. But it’s fun!

SpiroFace

Remember Spirograph? Do they still make that anymore or am I dating myself? Anyway, for those of you that remember Spirograph and for those of you who don’t, but still like geometric swirly kind of shapes, then this font is for you! A free download waiting for you at sharasfonts.com.

GelPen

Hello there! This time I’d like to post my first font, created in 2012. It’s a handwriting font called GelPen. Since I really like writing on black paper with fluorescent and pastel gel pens it wasn’t too difficult to come up with this name. It’s probably not going into the font hall of fame but I think it has worked well in various applications I’ve seen it used in over the years, such as keyboard apps for phones, videos, whiteboard apps, comics, and business apps. I have really enjoyed seeing what people have done with this!

GelPen comes in three weights and is free to download. If you use any of my fonts for your projects, please feel free to let me know so I can give you a shout out on my Pinterest board!

Cameron Sans family

Hi there! This is Cameron Sans, a rounded sans-serif font. Very legible for body text and captions. There are eight fonts in this family and they can be downloaded at sharasfonts.com. Yours free!

Olives in Cyrillic

An addition to the Olives family, Olives sans Pimiento International version is available for purchase. This typeface contains extended character sets and accented glyphs and is my first foray into Cyrillic. If you are looking for a fun font for a Russian project, look no longer! Head on over to Shara’s Font Shop and download it today!

Introducing Prinsesstårta

Meet Prinsesstårta, a carefully hand-crafted, hand printed typeface. Sweet and delicate like the Swedish Princess Cake that it’s named after, it’s great for body text, small point sizes, and anything requiring a hand printed look such as comics or cartoons. Six typefaces-light, medium and bold, + italics. Contains Latin and West European glyphs, so you can even type the word “prinsesstårta” with this font!

Mandalesque

Presenting a new dingbats font, Mandalesque! A collection of mandala-type illustrations for decorative projects. The complete character map can be viewed here on my Fontspace page. I’m really enjoying creating these types of fonts lately and I have a few more that are in progress. Hopefully I can get back to doing more once the craziness of the holidays are over. Until then, I hope you enjoy this. And please, if you ever have any problems with any of my fonts please feel free to contact me anytime! Happy holidays!!

Vanilla Extract

Just released a few hours ago-Vanilla Extract!

We’re making homemade vanilla extract and I wanted to make labels for them. Even though this isn’t a flowery, ornate, traditional kind of font for something like that I could see it working as a generic but modern medicine bottle kind of look. I’m figuring out the design for them now. Once I have something I’ll post the labels on this blog for a free download. Seriously though if you are ever interested in making vanilla extract it turns out so delicious!

Paper Snowflakes

Paper Snowflakes! Just in time for the holiday season and winter, this dingbat font contains solid and outlined snowflakes-the kind you might cut from paper. This font is not 100% complete yet but it’s still chock full of flaky goodness. Just consider this a preview! 😀 Free download at Sharasfonts.com!

Dragging Canoe-a font inspired by the Cherokee

We just recently visited Cherokee, NC. That is where the Eastern Band of Cherokee live. It’s such a beautiful city with lots to see and do. I was amazed by the street signs there. Everything is written in English and in Cherokee and the letterforms of the Cherokee syllabary were nothing short of amazing to me. There are a lot of latin letterforms but they look like a phonetic alphabet with diacritical marks. Another feature that made it so interesting was the “letters” (which are really syllables) didn’t match each other. There are capital block type glyphs along with swooshy and swirls of all sorts. Thick and thin stems, seemingly incongruent but still working well together visually. As far as the name of this font, during our trip I found out that my friend Brenda is a descendent of Dragging Canoe, a Cherokee warrior who was a real badass! His story is even featured in the Cherokee museum. Anyway, I couldn’t hope to do their writing justice but here is my attempt. By the way, if you go there you HAVE to eat an Indian Taco! Download Dragging Canoe right here! Oh, and did I mention it’s FREE?

Spork

Spork is a cartoon/comic font. It comes in regular, bold, italic and bold italic. Available for download from the spork page on sharasfonts.com.

Psilly

I was in a fun 70s retro kind of mood when I started drawing this one. It didn’t quite end up the way I thought of when I started but it’s still kind of groovy in an unauthentic way. I really thought it was a silly font and thought of putting the p in the front to continue with the groovy theme. It’s not listed on my main page yet but it’s available here. Might be good paired with mushrooms?

Radio Newsman

Good morning! I’m posting this new font called Radio Newsman. I really like the look of typewriter styled fonts complete with irregularities that give them personality. This font is a sort of tribute to my late grandfather, who was a radio news announcer in Philadelphia. This one’s for you, Granddad!

Brand New Font! Temari (手まりフォント)- A modern “spin” on traditional Japanese threaded balls.

Today I’d like to share my new font called Temari. Temari is a modern spin on traditional Japanese threaded balls. With 52 ball-shaped icons, this a great font for decorative touches! Although this is not a free font, it’s limited time introductory price is only $2.50!

Purchase and download Temari right here!

Thank you and have a great weekend!

GelDotica Lowercase Plain

Hi there! Thanks for stopping by! As promised (better late than never), here is the GelDotica Lowercase Plain version with no dots in the 0s! Free download at fontspace.com.

GelDotica returns

This is GelDotica again but with lowercase letters. I added lowercase after I had already released the GelDotica caps fonts to other sites online (which means good luck rescinding them all). I realize it’s pretty redundant having fonts that are only caps. Eventually they will be reorganized, but until then, here are some lowercase options! Next time I’ll post GelDotica plain-same font but without the dots in the Os. It was quite the controversy in my household. Those dots were added last and I thought they were the icing on the font cake. Showed it to DH and he said he liked it without the dots better. Showed DS and (without knowing there was a previous conversation) he said, “I like the dots in the Os!” So now there’s both. Thanks for visiting!

Update and additions to Olives

Hi there! Today I’ve been tweaking and creating some different versions to my new Olives font. We now have bold and light versions, as well as a different subset called “sans pimiento”, which is basically the dots removed like I mentioned on my last post. These updates will give the font more flexibility and will be able to be used in more projects. Yay! Both Olives families can be downloaded here on Sharasfonts.com. Have a great weekend!!

Just released! Olives.

Just finished up the latest font I was working on. It’s called Olives which is kind of funny considering I’ve never liked those things. Anyway it works best for larger display text. I’m thinking about creating a version without the dots that would be more appropriate as body text. You can download Olives right here.

Today’s featured font-Lemon Cookie

Today I’m introducing a newly created font called Lemon Cookie. It’s a cute and decorative font and when I was trying to come up with a name I kept having a visual of the font being on packaging from a small bakery. I hope you like it and can use it… maybe on a bag of cookies! Ready to download from Sharasfonts.com.

Another Pajama Pants font

Hi there! I’m posting another Pajama Pants font. This one is a lighter weight font. It would be a good choice for smaller text. Like the original Pajama Pants it’s a little on the cartoony side but that would work well for certain applications. The link also contains Pajama Pants Bold.

Quaky

Good morning! It’s early Monday morning and I’ve spent most of the weekend  finishing up a couple more fonts that I started while back. Even though I actually finished two new fonts, I haven’t had a chance to actually add them to sharasfonts.com yet. So with all that said, today’s font is an older one called Quaky-a bold display typeface that has a shaken up appearance perfect for larger text. Quaky and its sibling Quaky Light can be downloaded right here! Thanks so much and see you next time!

Pajama Pants!

Good morning! Well, it’s ridiculously early in the morning because I wanted to check out the Perseids meteor shower. A beautiful cloudless sky but I only saw three meteors in the half hour I was out there. Anyway I figured since I’m up in my pajamas I might as well post one of my latest fonts, called Pajama Pants. It’s a cartoon/comic/pen and ink type of font. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do, and I also hope that if you went out to check out the celestial show that you had either a better view or better timing than I did! Happy Friday!

Today’s Font-Arizona Tumbleweed

Hello and welcome! Today we have Arizona Tumbleweed, a curly kind of font that reminds me of tumbleweeds rolling around out west. It’s ready for download on Sharasfonts.com. Thanks for visiting!!

Bendy Straw Font of the Day

Good morning!! I have a new font for you today called Bendy Straw, named that for hopefully obvious reasons. I hope you like it! Bendy Straw can be downloaded here as well as on fontspace.com. Thanks and enjoy the day before Monday!

Font of the Day-Flatstock

Happy Friday!! I thought it would never get here! Today’s font is called Flatstock. It has kind of a bendy sheet metal look. I hope you like it! Flatstock can be downloaded here as well as on fontspace.com. Have a great weekend!

Font of the Day-Midnight Constellations

Good morning! Here we have a whimsical star studded font. Sure-it’s not appropriate for everyday documents and text but it would work well in the right kind of project. This one is only a few days old and as of this writing hasn’t been posted to the main page of Sharasfonts.com, but you can download Midnight Constellations right here. Have a great day and thank you for stopping by!

Staff Meeting Font of the Day

Staff Meeting has all the circles in the text filled in like you might if you were bored at a staff meeting and doodling on a handout. There are three different fonts in this family, Staff Meeting, Quick Staff Meeting, and Really Quick Staff meeting, with the filled in circles getting messier and messier. It’s ready to download!

Smudge Stick Font of the Day

Good morning! Today’s font is called Smudge Stick, a brush font reminiscent of sage and smoke.  It’s another thick font that’s especially good for headings and other types of display. Smudge Stick can be downloaded here. Also available for download on fontspace.com. Thanks and enjoy!

Brand new Shmooper font

Good morning and happy Monday! Here is a brand new font (so new that it isn’t even on my main website yet) to kick start the work week, only released yesterday!  It’s another hand drawn, thin and thick sort of font that’s especially good for headings and other types of display. Shmooper can be downloaded here. Also available for download on fontspace.com.

Cat Cafe ネコカフェフォント

Hi there! Another free font download for you! This one is one of my favorites. It’s a Japanese (katakana and hiragana) and Latin character font called Cat Café. There are even a couple of kitties with this one. The Japanese characters are hiragana and katakana only. It was inspired by a cat cafe a dear friend took me to in Tokyo. I think any font with cats in it should be fun and playful! Download Cat Café right here!

GelDotica Jumpy Caps

Hi there! This is another GelDotica font family called Jumpy. Also a fun font for scrapbooking or any type of display. You can download GelDotica Jumpy here. And please, if there are any questions or issues, please let me know!

New font blog

Hi there! I am starting this new font blog and hoping one day someone might read it. Anyway, I am a little obsessed with making fonts right now and I would like to share them with you!

This first group is from my family of fonts called GelDotica. About the name–I named my first font GelPen because I liked the playful look of bright gel pens on a black background and thought my handwriting font worked well with that. Continuing with the gel theme, GelDotica is a family of quirky fonts made of lines and dots and is also a nod to Helvetica.

You can download GelDotica here. This is a set of four all caps fonts for that fun scrapbooking look. Thanks, and come back for more free downloads!
